Ornament - Mother Earth by Kenneth Johnson

‘Mother Earth’ was created as a visual narrative about emergence from the earth as an origin point. The four Southeastern scrolls depict the four stages of life: coming into this world as a child, youthhood, adulthood, and wisdom/elderly years. The Next Journey is symbolized by the four-point star behind the Southeastern scrolls and serves as a celestial guide.

This work was originally created as an objet de’art (or, a collectible item), which was showcased as the marquee artwork for the 2022 Sovereignty Symposium in OKC. This design has also been expressed as a large-scale bronze. Each ornament comes with its own keepsake box.
