Yonavea Hawkins (Caddo/Delaware Nations/Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma) is an award-winning artist whose work balances between beaded jewelry and accessories, pucker-toe moccasins, and other Indigenous items. Her pieces have been shown at acclaimed art markets throughout America including, but not limited to, Santa Fe Indian Market, Southeastern Art Market, and Eiteljorg Indian Art Market. The current selection available at First Americans Museum online store are all unique one-of-a-kind.

Every bracelet is hand-crafted using a loom technique to create each geometric composition. Row by row, Yonavea interlocks each line of beads on a small loom to create symmetrical works that have been mathematically calculated beforehand. The finished artwork is then stitched onto a curved piece of metal with signed and dated buckskin fragments.
