About the Editors

heather ahtone (Choctaw/Chickasaw) is Senior Curator for First Americans Museum. She has worked in the Indigenous arts community since 1993 and regularly publishes and speaks on topics related to Indigenous arts and culture. She is dedicated to serving the global Indigenous arts community, with a focus on her beloved Oklahoma tribal community.

James Pepper Henry (Kaw/Muscogee [Creek]) is Director and Chief Executive Officer for First Americans Museum. In previous leadership positions, he has served at the National Museum of the American Indian, Anchorage Museum, Heard Museum, and Gilcrease Museum. He is currently also versing as Vice-Chairman for the Kaw Nation.
